Design – Obverse

Designed by Kinga Sabatowicz, the obverse portrays Werdanda seated on a root of Yggdrasil — grounded, present, and fully immersed in the now. Unlike Urd, who stands and gazes into still water, Werdanda is seated in active observation, her attention fixed on the threads she weaves in this very instant. Her hair is braided in the manner of fate's threads themselves, a detail that ties her identity to her function in a way that feels natural rather than decorative. Design – Reverse

The reverse continues the visual language established on the Urd coin: the Germania Mint double-headed eagle surrounded by Yggdrasil's roots and golden threads of fate. Here again, some threads are broken — but where on the Urd coin those breaks spoke to the possibility of escaping the past, on Werdanda's coin they speak to something different. The present is the moment of action. These breaks are not wounds; they are the places where conscious choice enters the weave, where a person reaches into the threads of their own fate and redirects them. It is the same image carrying a subtly different meaning — a quiet piece of visual continuity across the series.
