How selling works
1. Bring your metal and a photo ID
Utah law requires a valid government-issued photo ID for every precious-metals purchase, and sellers must be 18 or older. Grouped items such as tubes of Eagles or bags of 90% can be recorded as a lot.
2. We test, weigh and quote
Everything is verified in front of you with a scale, calipers and an electronic tester. Our quote is based on the live spot price and the posted buy premium for that item.
3. You get paid
Cash, check or same-day bank transfer, your choice, before you leave the counter. Larger sales can be paid by wire.

Pricing follows the same live spot engine as summitmetals.com, and there is no sales tax on bullion and legal-tender coins in Utah. Want something we do not have on the shelf? From I-215, take the 2100 South exit and head west about a mile; we are between 3200 West and Bangerter Highway. From SR-201, exit at Bangerter Highway, go south to 2100 South and turn east. Free parking in front of the store.

West Valley City Hall about 5 minutes. Taylorsville and Kearns about 10 minutes. Magna about 12 minutes. Downtown Salt Lake City and the west-side neighborhoods about 12–15 minutes. Murray and Midvale about 15 minutes.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an appointment to sell gold or silver?
No. Walk-ins are welcome Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. We recommend calling ahead only for larger sales — more than 500 oz of silver or 20 oz of gold — so we can prepare a private room and payment in advance.
How do you decide what to pay?
Every item has a posted buy price based on the live spot price plus or minus a premium for that product. The sheet is updated daily and you can check it before you visit. If you find a published buy price from another Salt Lake dealer that is higher on the same item, bring it in and let us look at it.
How do I get paid?
Cash, check or same-day bank transfer, paid before you leave. Wire transfer is available for large sales. Payments over $10,000 in cash are reported to the IRS as federal law requires for every dealer.
What ID do I need?
A current government-issued photo ID such as a driver license, state ID or passport. Utah requires precious-metals dealers to record each purchase, and we follow the same rules as every licensed dealer in the state. You must be 18 or older to sell.
Do you buy jewelry and scrap?
Yes. Karat gold and sterling silver jewelry, flatware and scrap are bought by weight and purity. Note that Utah law requires dealers to hold scrap jewelry for a short period before it is processed; coins and bullion have no hold.
Is there sales tax on gold and silver in Utah?
No. Utah exempts legal-tender coins and bullion bars and rounds from sales tax. Jewelry and supplies are taxable.
Do you buy coin collections and estates?
Yes. Bring the whole collection or call ahead for larger estates. We identify numismatic coins separately from bullion so collectible pieces are priced for what they are, not just for their metal.
Where do I park and is the store secure?
Free parking is directly in front of the store. The shop is a counter-service location with controlled entry and on-site security measures; large transactions are handled in a private room.
